Dr. Maurice Abney, DNP, MSN, PMHNP, ACNS is a doctorate prepared, board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and adult health clinical nurse specialist. Dr. Abney completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2018 from Chatham University, Master of Nursing from Liberty University, and Post Masters from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Maurice is a proud veteran and graduate of the United States Navy Hospital Corpsman training. As a seasoned advanced practice provider and clinician, he has over 25 years of healthcare experience. Dr. Abney has over 10 years of mental health nursing experience. He has provided treatment for military trauma behavior as well as care for children, adolescence, and adults experiencing behavior challenges. Dr. Abney has a special interest in depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, and anxiety. He prides himself on his approach to treatment, which consists of therapy and medication management as needed.
